Catch-up Post: Saturday July 15th

Hello All! I hope everyone is doing well wherever you are.

I asked off Saturday because I intended to go to the Belgium beer fest, but that was before I knew it was 40 dollars. I'm a bit too poor for that, considering it would be more like 70 dollars, because the price doesn't include food or other beer apart from the tastings. Adrienne and I decided to go to Sharon Springs. Here's the run down, featuring a pictorial timeline of our day, of course!

When we started driving it was very foggy outside. The fog here is just lovely, very delicate and wavering.

It also started to rain a bit, so I snapped this from inside the car

Sharon Springs is only about 20 minutes away, so it was a pleasant drive.

First off, we hit The Black Cat, an uber cute cafe Adrienne has been telling me about.

The interior ambiance was quite quaint. I'd love to go back soon.

I'm officially in love with this building, which was across the street.

Next we headed to a cute anitque/gift shop with a myraid of themed rooms.

After we shopped there we went to two shops housed in the same building.

The first shop featured handmade scarves and table runners. I really wanted a scarf, but they are around 80 dollars. So gorgeous. I talked to the lady who was weaving, she was very nice.

The other shop was a gallery of sorts.

The lady with the loom tipped us off on Foxglove press, right downstairs.

The woman working the press was so warm and friendly, she said I could come back and take so photos of her. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to learn how to print things. I would make the best books ever . . . I bought a lot of greeting cards from her, so keep your eyes open and check the mail :)

The last place we went to was an antique shop inside an old hotel

We didn't find much there, but they owner said they're having an opening night soon. I guess some of the rooms are gallery space.

All right, well, sorry for the plethora of pictures; I hope they load quickly. I have more photos to post from yesterday but that will have to wait until after lunch.

Oh, and P.S. if you haven't heard . . . I had a photo run in the NY Times yesterday! Woot!

Love to all,
j.
