Lost in Utica

This morning I decided to take a few hours off and enjoy some good old solitutde. I went into Cooperstown and found this lovely little bakery and ate a delicious fig pastry. I had a few hours to meander around so I took some photos on my film camera and went to the library where they were having a book sale. Just my luck! I bought a bag full of books, did a little gift shopping for you wonderful people back home, ate lunch, and went to work. I was sitting at a small table by myself when a man came in holding a piece of white poster board and lurking around like some sort of seedy criminal. I proceeded to give him a "look," you know, just to make it clear that he was in no way inconspicuous, and a little creepy. He caught on and explained that he was hiding out with the poster to surprise his cousin. He talked to me all throughout my lunch and right as I finished his cousin walked in. I took some photos, but they're on my film camera as well.

After work Adrienne and I decided to take a little roadtrip to Utica and make a Target run. The last roadtrip we made, to Albany, ended up being a navigational disasters. We followed the directions, but we still managed to get lost, AGAIN. We finally made it to Target, did some shopping, and headed back home. The town is gorgeous. I love all the old buildings and unique architecture. I snapped a few photos out the window, but I think they'll suffice to portray a bit of what we saw.

The sunset was beautiful.

The moon tonight was incredibly lush and spooky. I tried to get Adrienne to stop on the side of the highway so I could take pictures, but she wasn't too keen on that, so I had to pout and try and absorb everything without the visual aid of a camera. The inky clouds and phosphorescent layers made it the most sublime moon I've seen yet.
When we made it into Richfield Springs we deicded to stop at McDonald's and I took some pictures in the parking lot, leaning on the side of the car. Unfortunately, the moon was much lesss impressive by this time.

Neither of us are McDonald's fans, but it was late and we were hungry. Not to worry, I balanced the french fries out with a fruit salad. :)

Of course, we had to take advantage of the entirely kitchy decor.

Now we're in the living room with Brad, another housemate, watching one of my foreign films, though I must admit I am too tired to read the subtitles. I bought hangers at Target so now I can actually put all of my clothes into my closet. This is thrilling beyond belief. I am definitely going crazy with the plastic hangers. Fun times, I tell you. Fun times.

Well, loves, I'm off to bed. Miss you all!
